Being a baby human, we find ourselves in a womb, our first home on earth. Growing in a womb, we are touched all over by a “boundary,” called the “amniotic or embryonic sac”, also known as, the “bag of waters,” a thin but tough environment, allowing us to float and move within its form, We are loved up as nature’s way of evolving, and we don’t even have to be conscious about it. When we leave our womb, we have an instinctual need to create a safe and supportive outer environment. In this article, we are going to explore the challenge we have in formulating our own self-esteem self-concept by being conscious of BEing human, from the inside out.
When we are born into the outside world, we lose our familiar boundary of safety, of surety… of support, from our environment that we lived in for at least nine months of our physical evolution… our land of the familiar. We suddenly find ourselves out in the vast world, after laboring to leave the only home we ever knew.
During the first four to six months being alive, we have what’s called, a startle reflex (Moro Reflex, our first unlearned fear), because our boundary or “womb” is no longer there for support.
You probably don’t remember when you had this experience yourself, but have you ever seen babies suddenly flailing their arms, as if they were falling backward? One of the reasons is thought to be their first attempt at protecting themselves from harm. They want to feel their familiar boundary, their womb, their safe, beautiful haven that hugged them for nine months surrounding all parts of their body. Their first self-concept was formulated by their experience of being in a womb, a nice, healthy boundary that could be physically felt.
When babies come out in the world, they need reassurance and support from someone outside of themselves they are okay, safe and loved. Instinctively they are conscious of NOT being held all of the time and need to be held and loved and cared for. That’s why we swaddle babies, so they can feel that womb/boundary once again and feel safe and loved.
So, what happens when we grow up? How do we create a healthy environment, internally and externally so our self-esteem, self-concept of being worthy to be loved stays intact?
Grappling with the Physical Self-concept Definition through the 5 Physical Senses
Defining a healthy physical self-concept is part nature and part nurture. We have been given the ability to perceive and feel life experiences through our 5 physical senses that work together collaboratively to process external information to gain a better understanding about the world. We use our sense of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, which are our internal signals of the body to guide us through life.  When one of our senses is not functioning, another sense will do double duty to compensate for the one sense that is missing. A good example of this is when someone is blind, his/her ability to hear or sense of touch is acutely sharpened.
Having a physical body is a unique holographic self-concept model.
There are many processes taking place within our bodies that we are not even aware of, and we don’t have to be conscious of to survive. Being in a physical body is like having a Holographic holder  of all memories and experiences that we have felt over time. A striking example of a holographic reality is in ourselves; where every cell of our body contains the complete information about the entire mind-body system. We each have over thirty trillion cells that make up the body, containing the complete version of the original DNA that was the original source of the entire body, starting from teeny tiny cell.
Our cells are programmed with an inner knowing of everything we need to “do” to be human, just like a hologram. The standard definition of a hologram is a picture composed of several small parts, all of which contain the entire picture.  When we break up the hologram into many pieces, we end up with many small, but complete pictures of the whole.
Taking the ocean as an example of a holographic reality is easy to see: since the ocean is nothing but water, we can say that the whole ocean is contained in every drop of water found within it. Similarly, a ray of the sun contains the sun itself. That’s the same with ourselves. When we take a cell, each cell contains everything there is to know about us… the blueprint, so to speak, of who we are.
Another example we find is in a seed: with the entire structure of the tree contained in it, and all future generations of the tree are contained in a single seed. Depending on the nature of the seed, it lies dormant until the changes take place within the seed are ready to be “transformed into a seedling, taking nourishment from the earth”. 
Self-concept Assessment of Humans as Electrical Magnetic BEings
Human beings are complicated mechanisms, composed of intricate electrical circuitry, much like the internet, TV or radio, anything with a transmitter and a receiver. We are conduits of energy, emitting frequency fields, just like electricity or light waves or sound waves.  Consider the body to not only be a holographic holder but a crystalline receiver and transmitter decoding information all the time.
As humans, we take in over 400 million bits of information a second, sorting, filing, etc. We process everything through our filters, our experiences, and our conditioning, forming opinions and judgments about what we take in, which in turn dictates how we respond (or react) to the information coming in. There are a multitude of possibilities in how we take in what we take in and how we communicate internally and externally. The physical self-concept definition in this sense is dependent on what we believe about ourselves and our environment.
Our minds are programmed according to our experiences and conditioning, and it’s important to pay attention to what we believe, because of our beliefs, determine how we behave, and who we become. They are all tied to why we do what we do, and how we do what we do, not so much what we do.
We have trillions and trillions of cells in the body. Every cell is made of this crystalline substance with the ability to communicate, even the DNA takes on the crystalline formations. (Maurice Wilkins, a physicist from New Zealand, used X-rays to prove that DNA is crystalline). 
Energy is transmitted through the crystalline formations through the bone structure, serving as a solid crystal structure having the ability to convert vibrational energy, such as sound or light into electromagnetic and electric energy, showing that the healing properties of crystals absorb, store, amplify, convert and transmit these vibrational energies.
Shamans have been using crystals as channels of energy for thousands of years, and during sunrise ceremonies in Machu Picchu, Peru, a large crystal was placed in the center of a circle, with 12 shamans standing in strategic places around the circle. When the sun would come up, the rays would hit the crystal in such a way that they would refract the light beam and send a light wave to each shaman’s third eye. (Have you ever met someone who said, “Please don’t touch my crystal?” They believe that even someone touching their crystal could “contaminate” it with thoughts they would prefer not having).
Energy is channeled everywhere, including through our own cells into our own internal environment, depending on the signals that the cells receptors pick up. When we are stressed from outside causes, our receptor signals tell the effector cells to behave in a certain way, usually to fight or flight mode. Being conscious or entertaining negative thoughts effect how we perceive our experiences, and depending on our perceptions we either feel love or fear. We are either growing or protecting, one of the two.
Bruce H. Lipton, a stem cell biologist, and PhD, was fascinated by the study of “epigenetics”, (the science of behavior and physiology of the cell. He spent years examining the principals of quantum physics and the cells, discovering their direct relation in his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems.  Being an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit, he wrote, The Biology of Belief, explaining how the membrane of each cell has “gates and channels” that open according to electrical charges. The cell is programmed to let in stuff that’s good for the cells and closes to bad stuff, but when we are subjected to electro-magnetic energy that is charged negatively, the gates don’t work properly. It’s like having your computer freeze. He says that fear is one of those paradigms that paralyze action, preventing us from moving forward with living our dreams. 
Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese researcher, and photographer, claimed that human consciousness, thoughts, perceptions and beliefs even influence the molecular structure of water, which makes perfect sense. Taking photographs of ice crystals that were “infused” with different thoughts, (both positive and negative) Emoto showed the differences in the shapes of the crystals, proving that energetic communication was transmitted and received through thoughts and words.
When we observe something, it goes through our filters of conditioning or our own self-concept assessment and perception. Whatever comes out, we are decoding or breaking down that part we are observing, based on our perception and beliefs. The unobserved part is vibrational, and resonates a frequency. When we are conscious, we can change the energetic vibration and frequency.  But the key is to be conscious.
Take an iceberg in water. What’s above the surface of the water is the conscious part, and what’s beneath the water is the subconscious mind. The analogy would be a computer screen is the conscious mind and what’s hidden from view in files and folders, is the subconscious mind, seeing through its own perspective.
The subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and what’s not. It just follows the programming, but if we are not conscious about what we are exuding, it resonates the vibration of the hidden beliefs and thoughts that run our lives. Sometimes those thoughts are self-deprecating, and we feel shame or desperation and then attract exactly what we don’t want, but secretly feel/think. (It’s a “Catch 22,” which is a paradoxical situation from which an individual cannot escape because of contradictory rules) .
Even though we are experiencing the same collective reality, we each have a different construct, depending on our perspective. But, make no mistake, what you think deeply is what you vibrate, even under the facade you physically act out. If you don’t have a strong visual of what you WANT, focusing on how it makes you feel, you will continue to let the hidden judgment about yourself, (which I call the default button) kick in every day.
You need to stay conscious of resetting the thermostat over, and over again until you experience a new norm.
And, another good thing is that being in a body, you’re not alone. You have a team with you. You have three other partners: your mind, your emotions, and your spirit. It’s the relationship you have with each that it is important.
So, what kind of environment are you creating to be the human being you want to be? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to be what you desire, so you are at peace with your life, without regret?
The Duality of Energy and Environment: Gravity and Expansion
The universe provides a mysterious duality of energy: gravity and expansion.  When Albert Einstein was faced with Isaac Newton’s law of gravity, he realized that the universe had to be expanding and pulling together at the same time, otherwise all of the stars and planets would collapse unto themselves. And, clearly, that was not the case. Edwin Hubble said the only explanation was that the universe was expanding.  As the galaxies expand, we stay rooted on earth, due to gravity.
As humans, one day our energy will break free from the body, expanding beyond what we “know” from our physical, time-limited experience of BEing human, and go into the ethers of space, leaving behind the dense matter, we call our body.
We don’t know when, and we don’t know how, but we do know that this phenomenon, we call “death,” will occur for every single one of us… as a natural part of our evolution, so it’s important to make the best of our human experience while we are alive, and be truly conscious of living, right here, right now. It can be such a rich experience if we allow it to be so.
And, just as the Dalai Lama said, “Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.”  Living is more than merely existing. We each need love and compassion and giving love and compassion to another is the gift of having it. Living is full of wonder when we allow ourselves to look from that perspective. Living is a treasure hunt, filled with wonderful treasure waiting to be explored and discovered, full of experiences that defy explanation, full of love. BEing human is simply awesome, and laughter, well, laughter is one of life’s greatest gifts. Maintaining a sense of humor throughout life is surely a gift that keeps on giving.
(Have you ever laughed so hard you cried and the back of your head hurt and your stomach was in knots? If that’s not the most beautiful release, I don’t know what is!)
And as we know, there is a finite time in the physical world. We have that in common. Our physical bodies are born and our physical bodies die. It’s the same coin with different sides. The line is very thin…with everything in between. It’s what we make of the “in between” that will determine THAT moment…you know the one…the one we don’t want to talk about…the one we are afraid to address…the infamous “D” moment.
We’ve actually been talking about “it” the entire time, even if you didn’t take notice. Talking about transforming one thing to another (even a thought) is the same concept. Something has to die in order for something else to be born. Change itself has an innate cycle of birth/death, and transformation of any kind is a playground for the highest form of alchemy.
The biggest physical transformation we can relate to is a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Yes, the death of the caterpillar occurred, but the birth of a butterfly occurred, as well. Therein lies the mystery and the miracle of life and death.
Some Beliefs About Death
Some people think that dying is the “final act of living,” and there is nothing more.  Others believe that we each have a “soul” and that our souls are reincarnated into another life, after we die, into another form, and that our job is to live a kind and compassionate life, filled with good deeds to make this one IT, so we don’t have to come “back” and do it all over again.
Some religions believe there is a heaven and a hell  and that, depending on the kind of person we are, while living, will determine where we “go” after our passing. Others believe there is a paradise waiting, an eternal place for believers, based on the deeds that one has experienced in his or her “worldly” life. 
And, some people have died and have come back, (called an NDE, “Near Death Experience”) sharing their experiences of a realm that is filled with light and an overwhelming sense of ONENESS.
A book, called, “Saved By The Light,” by Dannion Brinkley, is an amazing story about Dannion’s experience of being struck by lightning when he was 25 years old, after being discharged from the Marines. They even made a movie out of the book in the seventies, with Eric Roberts playing Dannion.
Dannion was dead for about 28 minutes! That’s a short time to be dead, but a long time of not living to come back alive! He also was struck by lightning again, and then died another time on the operating table. Who dies three times and comes back to tell the story? Not only did Dannion come back, but he came back with a huge download of information that has changed his life tremendously, and the millions of lives he has touched.
He was so moved by the knowledge there is no death, he wanted to reassure his veteran brothers and sisters, when they faced their own deaths (many times, alone, due to PTSD, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder). He founded an organization, called, The Twilight Brigade, Compassion in Action, created in 1997 to train hospice volunteers how to be with veterans who are dying, so no vet ever dies alone. His calling of serving veterans in their last days became his passion. To date, Dannion has sat over 40,000 hours bedside of more than 3,000 people.
Dare to Live From the Heart
Whatever you believe, dare to treat “your human” with kindness, respect, regard and dignity, and learn how to navigate and manage your precious energy from a heart-driven place, verses an ego-driven place.
If you wish to have a healing journey… a journey that is filled with love and compassion… a journey where you accept the mysteries you don’t understand, nor see with your physical eyes… and be able to feel a sense of fulfillment, live your life consciously to make THIS MOMENT, THE BEST MOMENT EVER!
After all, we could each “die” in the very next moment. Are you ready?
